The main purpose of ECTRI is to favour scientific exchanges between the members, in September 2007 ECTRI set up Thematic Working Groups. The ECTRI groups offer opportunities to meet people and to exchange scientific propositions and issues.

The Thematic Working Group TWG G is bringing together specialist on Transport Economics and Policy. The topics of the Scientific Agenda and the main interests of the TWG G are:

 Economic Evaluation What are the consequences of transport policies and what are the challenges for the transport sector?

 Regulation and financing Pricing and taxation, financing, revenue recycling, PPS, competitiveness and regulation

 Transportation public policies What policies are realistic in a political context, how are decisions made?

Twice a year the TWG G will meet, hosted by one of the member institutes. In the mean time the members of the TWG G will have information and knowledge exchange through the website and personal contacts.
